Beauty: Halloween Makeup

30 October 2013

As Halloween has fast approached us I thought I should show you how I done my OTT makeup for a Halloween party I was at during the weekend. I didn't really want to dress up as I had to travel on the tube to get home, although I would of blended in with the rest of the halloween spirited people I saw upon my travels.

I decided to go dark and vampy with both my eyes and lips which was too much even for a night look but then again...anything goes on Halloween. I began with a light apply of the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation that was reviewed on AJOE here and then started on the eyes. As a base for my eyelids I used a mixture of the Bourjois Colour Edition 24H and the Maybelline 24H Colour Tattoo in the 70 -Metallic Pomegranate. They are both dark purples that looked great blended together giving my lids two varied purple tones. Towards the brow bone I then packed on the silver shade from my Rimmel Palette in 022 Brixton Brown. To finish off the eyes I applied the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner and a large amount of Mascara to the lashes to give them a thick volumized effect. To give my complexion an added pop of colour (as if I needed more) I used the Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink and finally to finish my vampy look I used the new Dark Night shade from the re-formulated Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick collection, which I applied quite full to give my lips a stronger look.

I am no means a makeup artist but I do enjoy experimenting with looks and this one was enjoyable to create as I would never usually use such intense colours. All products mentioned on the look will have been reviewed either before or following this post so make sure you keep an eye out for those.

What staple products are you using to create your spooky halloween look this year?
