Beauty Bag: Chanel Perfection LUMIÈRE

04 February 2014

This time last year, I made a pact that I would not spend my Boots points for a whole year and at the end of the twelve months, see how many I had accumulated. I had previously decided that I would get to one hundred pounds worth and then spend them but in the end I had saved them for so long that I just wanted to keep on going. I reached £100 about November time but continued to save them. I finally caved in and spent some of the points when I had reached a ridiculous £130 and I currently still have £45 left. I knew that I wanted to buy a few high end products with my points so one of the products I chose was the Chanel Perfection Lumiere.

Like all Chanel beauty products this one is no exception. The classic packaging gives the foundation an instant luxury label and whats inside doesn't disappoint either. The foundation comes in a variety of shades so you are bound to find one that is just perfect for you. I was matched to 10 Beige which is the most yellow toned out of the lighter shades. I have tried applying the foundation with both a Real Techniques Buffing Brush and just my fingers and both worked well. It is such a light liquid but still has a medium coverage and also be built up to a more full coverage if desired. I love the fact that it comes with a pump as a lot of high end foundations don't and I only end up wasting half on the back of my hand. The pump allows the right amount needed to do my whole face. It can seem like a high price tag at £36 for a foundation but it is a 30ml bottle and it does seem to go a long way. The foundation gives such a flawless look to the skin and automatically evens out my skin tone. It has a matt finish although still looks soft and natural. I am also really happy with the staying power, it lasts all day on me.

I also got a few other products whilst going on a Boots points splurge. If you had £130 on your Boots card, what would you spend them on?
