The Review: Smashbox Full Exposure Palette

22 March 2014

With the last of my trusty stash of Boots points;- I picked up the recently raved about Smashbox Full Exposure Palette. I had never really bought anything from Smashbox before so I thought I would give it a go, seeing as a girl can never have too many neutral eye palettes ay.

The palette consists of fourteen shades ranging from shimmers on the top row and mattes on the bottom. The seven shades of mattes were one of the main reasons I decided to buy this palette as I find it difficult to actually find a lot of matte shades to wear, I own far too many shimmers when on a day to day basis I would prefer a more neutral matte look.

From left to right, the first shimmer shade I would describe as dark bronze with gold glitter running through it, next a golden copper brown and the third one in; an amazing light champaign gold. The fourth colour is the most wearable shade once blended all over the lid it gives a subtle light shimmer and the one next to it is a perfect almost khaki shade. The last two colours would be the least wearable shades for me as I tend to go with more browns and golds however both greys would go great with a smokey dramatic eye.
The matte shades were the ones I as most looking forward to trying. The first colour being a dark chocolate brown next to a wearable nude brown that looks great as a wash of colour over the lid. The third matte is a more pink toned tan and fourth along is the lightest soft taupe shade. My favourite two shades of the moment are fifth and sixth as they look so nice blended together for an everyday soft eye look. Finally the last colour is a black matte that I wouldn't really tend to wear but still a nice creamy black to have.

Overall I am glad that I bought the palette. There's a mix of great warm and cool shades that are perfect for everyday use. They may not be as pigmented or as long lasting as the Urban Decay palettes but it's nice to finally have some matte's to add to my collection.

Do you have any matte palettes that you think tick all of the box's? I would love to know your suggestions.
